Every dream begins with a seed, but for Sherley, the founder of Emmy’s Dream Builders, that seed was planted during a profound life-changing moment. In 2015, Sherley was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an experience that temporarily took away her ability to walk and write. Through that challenge, she gained a new perspective on purpose, legacy, and impact. Rather than defining her by loss, this moment became the turning point that led her to build something lasting, a foundation dedicated to supporting children, families, and the community.

Emmy’s Dream Builders was founded not merely as an after-school program, but as a promise to Sherley’s five-year-old daughter and the families of our community. It is a brand rooted in the belief that as long as you have a pulse, you have a place—and if that place doesn’t exist yet, we will make it for you. We believe in the power of being "uncomfortable" to inspire growth and in the necessity of providing quality care for all children, including those requiring disability and housing services. Today, we stand as a testament to what can be built when we choose to shift our perspective and transform challenges into a refined, high-tier experience for every family we serve.
